Calvary Baptist Church of Allentown, 4601 W. Tilghman St., South Whitehall, has started a breakfast club offering nonperishable grab-and-go bags of nutritious breakfast foods.

Each bag contains five to seven food items that do not require refrigeration. The food was donated by members of the congregation. Anyone in the Lehigh Valley will be served.

The breakfast club will take place 9-10 a.m. Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.

“We can tailor the food items upon request based on dietary needs such as food allergies,” Melika Matlack, co-chair of the initiative said. “For example, we can bag only peanut-free foods. Just ask.”

“All are welcome and encouraged to visit for a little bag of breakfast snacks to brighten their day.”

To participate, drive or walk to the parking lot of Calvary Baptist Church.

Volunteers will signal how to enter the parking lot from Hausman Road.

From there, drive to the porte cochere in front of the main door to receive a bag from volunteers.
