The site of the former Hill’s Restaurant, 215 Bridge St., is being cleaned up and readied for a new tenant. Wilbur Hill, the building’s owner, is working on the restaurant following the departure of the last tenants, who owned Bridge Street Family Restaurant and opened a new restaurant in Northampton.
“With all the virus stuff going around, I thought it best we have the place spic and span,” Hill said.
He noted he does not want to change the layout but does want to add some features.
“We talked about using the back room as a place for small gatherings. Maybe we can add some outdoor seating,” he said.
When Hill and his mother ran the restaurant, there was a strong local connection. He would like to see that happen with the new owner. Hill has been talking to a local restaurant consultant looking for ways to improve the restaurant. His goal is to get the restaurant up to the new standards expected in the post- pandemic era.
A June 6 post on the restaurant’s Facebook page says the site is cleaned and ready for a new lease.
