Arlan Diehl
Arlan Diehl, 71, of Emmaus, died July 4, 2020, at LVHN Hospice. He was the husband of Victoria Diehl and the son of the late Ambrose Diehl and Marguerite (Kehm) Diehl.
He was a graduate of Emmaus High School. He retired from Kraft Foods after over 25 years of employment.
Just as he painted beautifully, he led an artistic and fun-filled life. He enjoyed gardening and received an award for his front garden from the Emmaus Garden Club.
Christmas decorating inside and outside of his home was one of his passions. He received recognition from The East Penn Press one Christmas. It surprised him; he hadn’t entered the competition.
He was a member of the Emmaus Historical Society and Fire Company #2 of Emmaus and volunteered at Musikfest for 20 years
Halloween decorations were one of his fortes. The annual Emmaus Halloween parade passed his home, so it was an “open house” evening. His home also was a popular spot for “neighbor get-togethers” at Christmas as well as for family gatherings. He was a fireworks watcher and car shows were yet another passion. He entered his 1971 Monte Carlo in several shows and enjoyed rides in the Mazda Miata to New Hope, too.
He and his wife visited Las Vegas every year. They eloped in 2005 and were united in marriage in the back of a limo at a drive-thru marriage chapel.
He is survived by his wife and loving pets (Spot, Oreo, Pixie and Bristol, senior rescues); a brother, Gerald and his wife, Kay; a sister, Eileen and her husband, Jules Schneider; nephew, Lee and Patty, were his “go to” folks; stepson, Eric Walls and his wife, Heidi; step-grandchildren, Autumn Marie, Rebekah Ann, Edward Anthony II, Winter Josephine, and Mairy Elizabeth; many nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by brothers, Lawson and Richard.
Contributions may be made to a shelter for pets.
Services will be private. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, Emmaus. To read his full obituary, visit www.BKRFH.com.
