Elizabeth “Betty” M. Panik, 89, of Northampton, died July 1, 2020, in her home. Born in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late John Sr. and Florence (Wilson) Chiz. She was the wife of Richard L. Panik Sr. for 70 years.
She was a 1949 graduate of the Liberty High School, Bethlehem.
She was a teller at the former Cement National Bank, Northampton. Previously, she worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
She was a member of Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church, Northampton, where she volunteered and attended the Young at Heart group.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Sharon D. and her husband Bernie Hahn of Northampton; two sons, Richard L. Jr. and his wife Rose of Northampton and Dr. Gary M., M.D., and his wife Barbara of Washington Township; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and his wife Nancy Sauerwein of North Carolina and James and wife Dolores Sauerwein of Bethlehem; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Geraldine Beahm and Shirley Trump; and a brother, John Chiz Jr.
Services will be private.
