Lydia was in charge of ordering Father’s Day gifts this year. She bought new bike lights and a pair of wool socks and had them shipped to our home. My husband was perplexed by the packages arriving addressed to Lydia and wondered how we were going to get them to Lydia in California. I told him I would take care of them. I discovered how well Lydia knew her dad when I opened up the boxes and saw the Sasquatch Field Guide. I passed the gifts on to Caroline to wrap. Matt loved his bike lights and socks but almost fell off the chair laughing when he saw the field guide. Perfect reference for camping trips!

The copy deadline for the Aug. 5 column will be July 30.
