At its teleconference meeting June 23, Allen Township Board of Supervisors heard from Eric Miller with Bath Allen Sports.
Miller asked permission to start practice for sports activities at the Howertown Park complex. According to his presentation, he has guidelines to maintain acceptable social guidelines for COVID-19-related interactions.
The athletic participation is purely voluntary, and each participant and their parents are required to sign a waiver on participation. Practice will begin when the state is allowed to return to some semblance of normalcy under the green phase.
Supervisors asked that the behavior guidelines be given to Solicitor Lincoln Treadwell for review.
Councilman Gerald Montanari expressed his concern about insurance coverage. Treadwell indicated the responsibilities were reviewed, and there seems to be concurrence among insurance companies that it is difficult to pinpoint where an individual contracted the virus. Treadwell will check on the insurance liability.
The board made the final payment on the salt shed that was completed earlier this year.
Allen Township will resume in-person meetings July 17. Meetings begin 7 p.m.
To comply with social distancing rules, the meetings will be held at Allen Township Fire Company, 3530 Howertown Road.
Masks are optional.
