Gerd “Jerry” August Jurgensen, 79, of Northampton, died June 5, 2020. He was the husband of Hilde (Hahn Dagrosa) Jurgensen.

Born in Westerholz, Germany, he was a son of the late Gustav and Erna (Petersen) Juergensen and the family later immigrated to Hankins, N.Y.

He graduated from Delaware Valley Central School, Callicoon, N.Y.

He later purchased a farm of his own in Damascus and sold hay for decades. He also worked in maintenance with Sullivan County Parks.

He was a member of the Callicoon United Methodist Church and later of the Abrahamsville United Methodist Church, Damascus.

He was a volunteer fireman in Callicoon and was active in both the annual fireman pancake breakfast and the Callicoon tractor parade.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three stepchildren, Terry Dagrosa, Tony Dagrosa and his partner Allan Wood and Bob Dagrosa and his son Bobby Jr.; two daughters, Cindy and her husband David Markle and their children John, Sarah and Chloe and Stacey and her husband Eric Morrison and their children, Aaron and Eli Morrison; two nieces, Lisa Hinkley and her son Collin Villicana and Mona Villicana and her son Sabastian.

He was predeceased by a sister, Marita Villicana and her husband J. Fernando Villicana.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
