School District News
Northwestern Lehigh School District Superintendent Jennifer L. Holman provided the following end-of-school letter to parents and staff June 3 on the district’s website.
“To say the last several months have been a whirlwind is an understatement.
“As a school district, we were compelled to pivot our model of teaching and help students to learn in a remote, online environment.
“While initially seemingly insurmountable, the task was fully embraced by all.
“I have seen countless examples of quality instruction, authentic engagement, compassionate communications, and simple acts of kindness.
“As we wind down this school year that can only be described as unparalleled, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of you.
“You stepped up to the plate, partnered with your children’s teachers and parents, and made the very best of an extremely difficult situation.
“Thank you for everything you’ve done over the past three months.
“I know it wasn’t easy, and at times it was downright hard. I know I speak for our entire staff when I say we truly appreciate you and everything you’ve done to help us continue the educational process and serve our community this spring. Thank you.
“I am often asked what our greatest challenge has been throughout this situation.
“My response is - trying to make plans for the unknown.
“I wish I had a crystal ball and knew what was going to happen in the future, but I don’t.
“Not knowing what the social distancing requirements are going to be at any particular time in the near future has made planning a challenging task.
“I would like to take this opportunity near the end of our school year to share some thoughts, invite you to provide input regarding the recent e-learning experience, and share ideas for the upcoming 2020-21 school year.
“We are asking families to complete the School Structure Parent/Guardian Survey on the school district’s website that will be used in our planning ...
“I hope everyone will continue to stay healthy, enjoy time with your family and loved ones, and relax before we start again in August.
Have a great summer break.
