Funding secured for E. Allen equipment

State Rep. Marcia Hahn, R-138th; state Sen. Mario Scavello, R-40th; state Rep. Joe Emrick, R-137th; and state Rep. Zach Mako, R-183rd, recently announced the approvals of Local Share Account grant funds for a number of Northampton County projects.

East Allen Township received $75,000 to purchase a new crack-sealing machine for use on public roadways. Other areas include Pen Argyl and Roseto boroughs; Plainfield, Upper Mount Bethel and Bushkill townships and Northampton County.

These grants were fully funded by gaming revenues from the Northampton County Local Share Account. No tax dollars are used to fund this program.

“These projects will improve the response readiness of our local police and EMS departments, clean up our roads and make our district a more inclusive place for individuals with disabilities,” Hahn said. “I was glad to advocate for such worthy causes and pleased this funding was approved.”

“These grants are an integral part of economic growth for this area,” Scavello said. “We must continue to invest in infrastructure, economic development and public safety to ensure a high quality of life in our communities and across the commonwealth.”

LSA grants support economic development, job training, community improvement and public interest projects through gaming funds under Act 71 of 2004. These specific grants come from Monroe County, which funds projects in Monroe and its contiguous counties.
