Evelyn J. Grammes, 101, of Bethlehem and formerly of Whitehall, died June 12, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg She was the wife of the late Paul R. Grammes.

Born in Germansville, she was a daughter of the late Oscar P. and Althea M. (Wehr) Snyder.

She was a 1936 graduate of Allentown High School and a graduate of the former Henry’s Beauty School, Allentown.

She was a hairdresser at the former Hess Brothers and Lewis’s Beauty Salon, both in Allentown, for 10 years until she retired.

She was the oldest member of Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church, Orefield.

She was a charter member of the Whitehall Woman’s Club and the Parkland Garden Club. She was member of the Northampton Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, AARP Chapter 3115 and the Whitehall senior citizens group.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas P. with Patricia of Bethlehem and William R. with Donna of Whitehall; four grandchildren, Jennifer Steirer, Kellie Tremba and Jeffrey and Bryan Grammes; and 11 great-grandchildren, Conor, Brendan, Ben and Carlye Grammes, Ty, Teagan and Trey Tremba, Sophie and Ella Steirer and Caleb and Annabel Grammes.

Services will be private.
