LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Happy to be back in business

Businesses in Catasauqua Borough were busy this past weekend as residents from the borough and beyond enjoyed the beginning of the yellow phase of the state’s reopening.

The picture-perfect Sunday followed a warm and humid Friday and Saturday.

On June 5, the Flying V food truck stopped by Taylor House Brewing Company, 76 Lehigh St., signaling the start of the return to semi-normalcy. Patrons enjoyed a comfortable, cool and no-stress time chatting by the river.

Jake and Jen Collins drove from Bethlehem because many restaurants in that area were crowded.

The patio area at Tony’s Top Cat, 607 Front St., was open and attracted a crowd June 7.

The bars in New Jersey are still closed, which prompted some to drive from the neighboring state to Fossil’s Last Stand, 429 Race St., which also had a large crowd this past weekend.

At Catty Corner Neighborhood Pub & Pie, 301 Mulberry St., a crowd was outside, with a few people still stopping by for food pickup.

Pie’s On Pizzeria, Front and Pine streets, had many pickups, as there is not a big outdoor scene, partly because Pine Street is typically bustling with traffic.
