George M. Neupauer, 85, of Kirkland Village, Bethlehem, and formerly of Northampton, died June 3, 2020, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Egypt, he was a son of the late Samuel W. and Sophia (Makovsky) Neupauer. He was the husband of Mary A. (Walakovits) Neupauer for 55 years.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Moravian College in 1962 and a Master’s Degree in Education from Lehigh University in 1968.

He was a staff sergeant in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was an elementary school teacher and principal in the Bethlehem Area School District for 31 years.

He was a parishioner, lector and an Eucharistic minister at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.

He was a member and a past President of the Holy Name Society.

He was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Janis (Neupauer) Stiglich and her husband John of Quakertown, Maria (Neupauer) Schubert and her husband Paul of Downingtown and Roseanna of Lafayette, Colo.; and two grandchildren, John Stiglich and his wife Emily and Jennica Stiglich.

He was predeceased by six brothers, Samuel, John, Jacob, Albert, William and Edward Neupauer.
