HORNET HAPPENINGS

The Emmaus High School Class of 2020 graduation day is scheduled July 26 at the PPL Center in Allentown.

Locker clean out at EHS will start June 5.

Students will report to EHS to clean out their lockers, claim their belongings and return school property such as textbooks.

Seniors will go to the school June 5 and 8, juniors June 9; sophomores June 10 and freshmen June 11.

Students will enter the school according to their birth month. For example, students born in January will be allowed to enter 7:30 to 8:05 a.m. to empty their lockers and return any items belonging to the East Penn School District. Students will be allowed into the school in 35 minute intervals. The day will conclude 2:30 p.m.

Students in grades nine to 11 are to return any East Penn property excluding Chromebooks and Chromebook chargers. Students should leave school district items in their empty lockers for staff to retrieve. These items, such as textbooks and gym locks, should be returned in a disposable bag labeled with the student’s name, ID number and grade level.

Officials recommend students bring a backpack to carry their belongings retrieved from the high school.

All students are required to wear a face mask and obey the 6 foot social distancing guideline. Gloves are also recommended. Any student experiencing a symptom of COVID-19 should not go to the school.

Students are prohibited from gathering in groups in locker commons, bathrooms and/or hallways during the locker clean out process.
