ACTS OF KINDNESS

Ronald W. Beitler, president of the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners and his father, Lower Macungie Township Commissioner Ron Beitler, are hitting the streets to distribute hand sanitizer.

Smooth-On Inc., Lower Macungie Road and its retail partner, Reynolds, recently donated hand sanitizer to the township.

Trey Bianco, company president, donated the sanitizers for use by essential workers and residents.

Smooth-On is located in the former Day-Timer® building, 5600 Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township.

The company has been in the location for five years.

“Smooth-On is a wonderful community partner. They always step to the plate when it comes to local initiatives. When I asked for hand sanitizer, they did not hesitate,” Beitler said.

After distributing the sanitizers to essential workers, such as the ambulance crews and medical facilities, the Beitlers took to the streets and gave sanitizer bottles to older residents of the township. The present goal is to distribute to all residents who are 80 years and older. The resident is notified and the sanitizer is placed in a door hanger bag and left at the residence so there is no human intervention.

Anybody who knows of residents in need may contact the Beitlers by emailing Ronbeitler@gmail.com.
