Mary J. Miller, 78, of Whitehall, died March 18, 2020. She was the wife of Barry G. Miller, 78, who died May 23, 2020. They were married for 56 years.
Born in Egypt, Mary was the daughter of the late Samuel and Luella (Fox) Gogel. Born in Allentown, Barry was born to Percy and Iva (Smith) Miller.
Mary and Barry both graduated from Whitehall High School in 1959. Barry then graduated from Delaware Valley College with a degree in horticulture.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Mary worked as a secretary at GAC and later as a shipping and receiving clerk at Sears. Barry worked at First National Bank and later as a foreman at Tarkett until retirement.
They were members of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and volunteered at the Whitehall Food Pantry.
They are both survived by a daughter, Kristin and her husband David Vincent of Orefield; a son, Alan and his partner Wendy Brader of Catasauqua; three grandchildren, Noah, Nathan and Aaron. Mary is survived by two brothers, Sam and his wife Pam and David, all of Florida; a sister, Sarah and her husband Mike McCartney of Kempton; a nephew, Mike Gogel and his wife Julie; and two grandnieces, Madison and Morgan.
Services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
