Rita Mae Batz, 69, of Catasauqua and a resident of Manor Care, Bethlehem, died May 9, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Janet (Hower) Karevya.

She is survived by a son, David of Palmerton; a daughter, Donna Carter and her husband Robert of Catasauqua; brothers, Albert Karevya and his wife Kathleen of Venice, Fla., and John and Geary Karevya, both of Catasauqua; two sisters, Candace Madea and her companion Norman Stark of Bethlehem and Beverly Karevya of Catasauqua; a granddaughter, Korin Batz of Palmerton; two grandsons, Stone Carter of Catasauqua and Zachery Carter of Las Cruces, N.M.; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Anthony; and a sister, Joyce Nichols.

There will be a celebration of life at a future date.
