Moore Township: June 14 bingo event at Klecknersville fire company is planned

Moore Township has scheduled a designer purse bingo noon-4 p.m. June 14 at Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company, 2718 Mountain View Drive. In addition to bingo, there will be raffles, door prizes and a Chinese auction.

The kitchen will be open.

Advance tickets are recommended.

Emmanuel’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, has canceled its Vacation Bible School, originally set for June 22-26, based on the state recommendation against large-group gatherings.

Also, Emmanuel’s is helping the community during this time of crisis by collecting items for the following organizations: Hackerman-Patz House and ACCESS Services teens in foster care. Check the church’s website, emmanuels.org, for lists of items needed.

Donations can be dropped off 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday at the church. The side red door of the church will be unlocked, and there is a bin inside the door for items.

Northampton County has partnered with Easton Hospital for a drive-up testing site for Northampton County residents at the main parking lot of the hospital, 250 S. 21st St.

Testing will be conducted 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday until June 5.

Only residents from Northampton County will be accepted for testing, and they must show at least one of the following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recognized symptoms of COVID-19 to be eligible: fever, dry cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or loss of taste and/or smell.

A prescription from a doctor is not required. Although insurance is not required to be tested, participants should bring a photo ID and their insurance card, if they have one.

Moore Township Municipal Building remains closed to the public until further notice. Documents can be sent through mail or email to the appropriate recipient.

Effective immediately and until further notice, parks are to be used at your own risk due to COVID-19. Playground equipment is not being sanitized.

The CDC recommends groups of 10 people or less.

The tax office remains closed for in-person payments. The forms of payment accepted during this time will be check and money order only. No cash payments will be accepted. If you do not have checks, use a money order for the total amount of your payment due.

Payments can be mailed to 2913 W. Beersville Road, Bath, 18014, or dropped off in the locked box on the garage at this address. If you need a receipt, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with all payments.

The basic rate due date for real estate property taxes has been extended from June 30 to Aug. 31.
