Some visitation guidelines updated
During the COVID-19 crisis, Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is acting as a trusted health partner by putting the safety of patients and our caregivers and staff first. One way we helped ensure safety at the onset of the pandemic was to temporarily restrict visitation across our health network. While we understand and appreciate how difficult these changes may have been, our efforts helped slow the spread of infection in our community.
For ongoing updates about all LVHN is doing to keep colleagues and patients COVID-SAFE, visit LVHN.org/COVIDSAFE.
Unit ready to treat Covid-19 child cases
Pediatric specialists at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital have been closely monitoring the incidence of pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome regionally and internationally and are prepared to care for children with the illness.
Several children with PMIS have been treated in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and the pediatric inpatient unit at the Children’s Hospital and are recovering.
Rehab services reopen
Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) and Coordinated Health Rehabilitation Services have reopened for outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy services as well as outpatient cardiac rehabilitation services. These services are now available to patients with a referral in all previously served regions including Lehigh, Northampton, Bucks, Berks, Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe and Schuylkill counties and Phillipsburg, N.J. Patients are being contacted for scheduling by members of the outpatient registration team. For information about reopened locations, please visit LVHN.org/reopenings.
Mammogram screening resumes
Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) Breast Health Services has reopened 15 locations to provide COVID-SAFE screening mammograms for women, age 40+. During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, LVHN could only offer diagnostic mammography services for women with suspected breast cancer.
LVHN staff at all locations are following important safety measures to help ensure patients receive mammography services in COVID-SAFE facilities.
