Lebanon Valley recognizes winter athletes

Lebanon Valley College recognized nearly 200 student-athletes who competed for the Flying Dutchmen athletic teams during the 2019-2020 winter season.

Local athletes include:

Lauren Bunke of Bethlehem, a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science and was a member of the women’s swimming team. Both swim teams finished 1-6 with each beating Stevenson in their first home meet of the season. Six women and three men made various finals at the MAC Championships in February.

Jaime Youngkin of Bethlehem (18020), a graduate of Nazareth Area High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in early childhood education and special education and was a member of the women’s basketball team. The Dutchmen finished the 2019-20 campaign with a 9-16 record. Emily Mealey led the Dutchmen all year as she averaged 17.7 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. She posted 20 double-doubles en route to garnering MAC Commonwealth First Team honors as well as being named to the All-ECAC honorable mention team.

Katelyn Warnke of Bethlehem (18015), a graduate of Saucon Valley High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in exercise science and was a member of the women’s track and field team. At the 2019-20 MAC Championships, several Dutchmen earned top spots and medals. Overall, LVC racked up 13 medals at the two-day championships, led by Keri Jones’ gold in the 3,000-meter run, and Owen Buhr’s silver medals in the 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles.
