Shirley H. Sechler
Shirley H. Sechler, 72, of Danielsville, formerly of Whitehall, died peacefully at home on April 29, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
She and her husband, Dale C. Sechler, celebrated 54 years of marriage on Jan. 1.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Henry Sr. and Lurean (Wright) Heckman.
She attended Parkland High School.
A member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union, she was a sewing machine operator for more than 30 years before retiring at the former Cross Country Clothes, Egypt.
After retiring, she worked part time for A.C. Moore Arts and Crafts, Whitehall, for several years.
She loved to play bingo and enjoyed a good game of pinochle, among other card games.
Her passion, however, was cooking, a talent she mastered and greatly enjoyed sharing at family gatherings she so dearly loved.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her children Doris Stearns and her husband, Kevin, of Danielsville, and Richard Sechler and his wife, Tracey, of South Whitehall; grandchildren Kaitlynn Tretter and her husband, David, of North Whitehall, Lindsey Stearns, of Danielsville, Abigail and Caleigh Sechler, both of South Whitehall; sisters, Patricia Sommer and her husband, Stephen, of Walnutport, Faith and Rosemarie Lackner, and Lillie Davis, all of Whitehall; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters Charmine Watson, Dorothea Klobosits and Linda Deeble; and brothers Robert Sr. and Henry Heckman Jr., and Richard, an infant.
Her celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
