Charles D. Herman, 81, of Stiles, died May 1, 2020. He was the husband of Sandra (Solt) Herman since Jan. 27, 1962.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Hartzell) Herman.
He was a 1956 graduate of Whitehall High School.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.
He was the owner and operator of Herman Excavating, Paving and Concrete Company, Whitehall Township, for 50 years.
He attended Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.
He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Sportsmen’s Association; Lehigh Valley Trap League; North End Rod and Gun Club, New Tripoli; Lappawinzo Fish and Game Protective Association, Northampton; Ranger Lake, North Whitehall Township; and East Bath and Ontelaunee rod and gun clubs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David and his wife Chris of Whitehall and Jeffrey and his wife Denise of Northampton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Douglas and Roger.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.
