SVHS’s Koehler wins PAC competition

Glenn Koehler of Bethlehem won Pocono Arts Council’s The Earth Speaks VI: A Juried Exhibition on the Environmental Crisis photography award. The photo depicts a barren landscape and a wind and storm surge-battered McDonald’s sign just off the coast in Biloxi, Miss. The photo is part of the series, “Biloxi, Two Years After Katrina”.

Koehler, at the time a Saucon Valley HS senior, was deployed to Mississippi as part of a search and rescue team following the storm. He spent a week and a half serving as part of a ground crew going house-to-house in Waveland, Miss., ‘ground zero’ of the hurricane.

The virtual program is available by visiting www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MzeaqsI-4E. Selected works may be purchased by visiting https://poconoarts.org/gallery.

Bethlehem residents named interns
