Joseph J. Nazar, 66, of Pittsburgh and formerly of Northampton, died April 24, 2020, at Kane Regional Community Living Center, Pittsburgh.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Czerkas) Nazar.

He was a 1972 graduate of Northampton High School. He earned a master’s degree in engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y.

He was an engineer for Westinghouse, Pittsburgh, for 15 years. He then worked for Boston Engineering, Boston, Mass., building tunnels until he retired.

He was a member of Assumption Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Northampton.

He is survived by two cousins, Justine Schubert and Nadine Harbove.

He was predeceased by a brother, John Nazar.

Services are private.
