Famy, newborn centers’ guidelines updated

Effective April 24, LVHN has made updates to visitation guidelines for its Family Birth and Newborn Centers. For expectant parents looking for COVID updates, they’ve launched LVHN.org/motherhoodpartners, a resource housing answers to frequently asked questions, educational resources and information specific to pregnancy during COVID-19.

Hospitals open for elective surgery

Lehigh Valley Helath Network has started reopening the region’s only COVID-FREE hospitals for elective surgery. A COVID-FREE facility is a hospital that has been quarantined throughout the pandemic – a stand-alone building that has never seen a COVID-19 case and is physically separated from those that care for patients with COVID-19. The three COVID-FREE hospitals are Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN)–Tilghman, 4815 Tilghman St., (Opened May 1); Coordinated Health Allentown–1503 N. Cedar Crest Blvd. (opened April 30); and Coordinated Health Bethlehem–2310 Highland Ave. (opening May 11). Stringent safety protocols will ensure these facilities remain as free as possible from COVID-19. These protocols will make the patient experience more streamlined than ever before.

Physician group, ExpressCARE centers open

Starting Friday, May 1, Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) re-opened more than 50 LVPG practices and select ExpressCARE locations across the region with new COVID-safe precautions and conveniences to ensure patients and their family members are seen both safely and quickly. LVHN guarantees same-day appointments, virtually or in-person, and will implement expanded hours, including weekends. To help promote social distancing, patient arrival times will be staggered.
