Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church was determined to celebrate Easter, held April 12 this year. After its original plan for an in-car service in the parking lot of Sheckler Elementary School was nixed, Brian Riedy, pastor of the 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua, church, and his congregation offered an outdoor Easter breakfast, complete with pancakes and ham, on Front Street. After picking up breakfast and brunch meals, there was a short individual prayer service with communion, followed by another walking stop to the Blondies table for cupcakes and treats for the Easter basket.
Most of the Holy Week services for Christians were online. This display of friendship was a nice break for those who wanted to celebrate the community.
Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church has been at the forefront of providing free food for the less fortunate in the community. All are welcome to its dinner pickups. The next program is slated for May 1.
