Mike and Nancy Perruso use Sophia the mannequin to celebrate all kinds of special events such as holidays, birthdays and other occasions. Currently dressed as a nurse in honor of healthcare professionals on the front line of battling the coronavirus pandemic, Sophia was purchased from Orr's Department Store when it closed. Ever since, she has been the centerpiece of displays such as the current one at their northeast Bethlehem home. Mike says his mother-in-law purchased Sophia and his sister-in-law, who was a nurse for 40 years, provided the nursing gear. He said that a future incarnation of Sophia will recognize grocery store employees. Sophia has her own Instagram page at Sophiaaa1998.
