Lee F. Hummel, 87, of Kempton, died April 8, 2020, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
He and his wife, Anna Pearl (Oldt) Hummel, celebrated 65 years of marriage in April 2019.
Born in Kutztown, he was the son of the late Clarence J. and Evelyn (Smith) Hummel.
A Korean War veteran, he served with the U.S. Army.
A heavy equipment operator for Kempton Excavating, he retired in 2001.
He was a member, former councilman and cemetery board member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Stony Run.
He was also a member of Vaux Masonic Lodge 406 F&AM in Hamburg, and a member of the New Tripoli, Lynnport and Kempton fire companies.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by daughters, Brenda L., wife of Neal Derr, and Beverly A. Bailey, all of Kempton, Bonnie L., wife of Donald Henninger, of Kutztown, and Bernadine K., wife of Shawn Gangaware, of Kempton; sisters Joyce Levan of Kutztown, and Shirlene Loeb of Lenhartsville; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother, Clark.
Due to the current health concerns, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
