James Kochenash, 89, formerly of Whitehall, died April 5, 2020, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Helen (Marakovits) Kochenash.

Born in Egypt, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Anna (Novak) Kochenash.

He was in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict.

He was a produce manager for 29 years for A&P. He then worked in maintenance for 16 years for the Whitehall-Coplay School District.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton.

He is survived by a son, James; a brother, Frank and his wife Elizabeth; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by six brothers, Michael, William, Charles, John, Joseph and George.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
