Health secretary says cases beginning to plateau

COVID-19 COUNT

Pennsylvania Department of Health officials have reported a state total of 25,345 COVID-19 cases and 584 deaths, as of April 14.

In Northampton County, 1,176 cases and 25 deaths have been reported.

In Lehigh County, 1,803 cases and 23 deaths have been reported.

According to Dr. Rachel Levine, state health secretary, Pennsylvania cases are beginning to plateau. However, she, along with Gov. Tom Wolf, stressed residents should continue to follow stay-at-home orders and social distancing guidelines.

Wolf has announced Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts are working to create a multistate council to develop a plan to restore the economy and slowly reopen businesses.
