Ronald D. Spangler, 70, of Walnutport, died March 22, 2020, at home. He was the husband of Karen (Madea) Spangler for 44 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of Alverta (Young) and the late Samuel Spangler.
He was a 1967 Northampton High School graduate. He earned an associate degree from Temple University.
He worked at Schaefer Brewery and then for Sam Adams Brewery, from which he retired in 2012.
He was a member of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville.
He was a lifetime member and vice president at Lappawinzo Fish and Game Club and was a member of the Hungarian Hall in Northampton. He played fast-pitch softball and coached his daughter’s township softball teams.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two daughters, Stacie Spangler and her husband Chris Coffey of Glen Mills and Nicole and her husband Luke Lohrman of Nazareth; two grandchildren, Madison and Brynn Lohrman; a sister, Sharon and her husband William Bechtold of Northampton; a brother, Richard Spangler of Bethlehem; mother-in-law, Dorothy Madea; a brother-in-law, David and his wife Valerie Madea; a sister-in-law, Dagmar Madea; two nieces; and a nephew.
Services will be private.
