Moore Township: Check out virtual church services

Many Moore Township churches are utilizing Facebook Live or Zoom to hold Sunday services in lieu of public services.

The churches holding virtual Sunday services include Salem United Church of Christ, 10:15 a.m.; Emmanuel’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9:30 a.m.; Covenant United Methodist Church, 9 a.m.; Christ United Church of Christ, Little Moore, 9 a.m.; Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 9:30 a.m.; and Bushkill United Methodist Church, 10 a.m.

Emmanuel’s Church is offering shopping assistance to seniors, disabled persons and those with chronic medical conditions or who are on immunosuppressants.

The township municipal building is closed. All public meetings are canceled until April 6.

Documents can be sent through mail or emailed to the appropriate recipient.

Effective immediately until further notice, parks are to be used at your own risk due to COVID-19. Playground equipment is not being sanitized.

The CDC recommends groups of 10 people or less.

First Regional Compost Authority will be closed and will not be picking up yard waste material from the township.

Until further notice, the township drop site will be closed.

The township tax office will be closed to in-person payments. The forms of payments accepted will be check and money order only. No cash payments will be accepted at this time.

If you do not have checks, use a money order for the total amount of your payment due.

Payments can be mailed to 2913 W. Beersville Road, Bath, 18014, or dropped off in the locked drop box on the garage at this address.

If you need a receipt, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with payment.

Moore Township Board of Supervisors is seeking qualified applicants for the position of public works director.

The public works director is responsible for supervising and administering the maintenance of township roads and streets, parks, public buildings, stormwater systems and grounds.

Qualified applicants will have five years or more of experience. A college degree, a Class A CDL license with equivalent training and experience with the operation of heavy equipment is a plus.

Salary will be commensurate with experience. The complete job description is available upon request.

Moore Elementary School is postponing the fundraising basketball game against the police department that was to be held March 20 until further notice.

Christ UCC, Little Moore, 913 S. Mink Road, is postponing its all-you-can-eat ham and dandelion dinner that was to take place April 4.

Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company has postponed or canceled any and all scheduled fundraisers.

These include Tuesday night bingo, Easter breakfast, the pie and filling sale and hall rentals. They are still responding to emergency calls during this time.
