Lewis Joseph Schray, Bethlehem HUD inspector

Lewis Joseph Schray, 96, of Bethlehem, died March 23, 2020, in his home. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late John and Francis (Rituper) Schray. He was the husband of the late Rachel (Kelly) Schray and of the late Jean Elizabeth (Lunger) Schray.

He was in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He attended Bethlehem Business College.

He was a machinist for Bethlehem Steel Corp. He then worked in sales and credit at local cement companies. He was a Federal Housing Administration inspector for Bethlehem Housing and Rehabilitation. He owned a shrubbery business in Bethlehem.

He was active in the Bethlehem Jaycees. He was a founding member of Valley Enterprises investment club.

He is survived by five children, James Schray and his wife R. Candice Schray, Joanne Zsilavecz, Thomas Schray, LeeAnn Schray and her husband Robert Tuttle and Brian and his wife Cynthia Schray; eight grandchildren, Rebecca, Jacob, Matthew, Allison, Amber and Autumn Schray and Chad and Zachary Zsilavecz; and six great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Della, Olivia, Anna, Lia and Sonny.

He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Schray; and two sisters, Ethel Wrabel and Mary Schray.
