Dorney, Knoebels parks delay opening for 2020 season

Two area amusement parks that many residents frequent each summer have announced that they are delaying their opening weekends as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg and Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown are both postponing their season.

The opening weekend for tKnoebels is May 9 and 10. Ride passes, campground, cottage and picnic reservations for the weekends of April 25-26 and May 2-3 will be rescheduled for later in the season.

Changes to the schedule have been updated on Knoebels’ website and via its Facebook page.

Like Knoebels, Dorney officials also announced that the start of the seasons has been delayed to mid-May or as soon after that as possible.

Season passholders will get additional days to the park’s calendar and also get added value benefits that will be announced at the park’s opening.

For additional information on either park and changes that have occurred for this season as a result of the pandemic, visit their websites.
