LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. Who are the members of your family: parents, siblings and pets?

A. My household is made up of my parents, Meghan and Christopher Boyko and my older brother, Devon. I also have a dog named Finley.

Q. What do you most enjoy about being a senior at Emmaus High School?

A. I like knowing that this is a year of many changes. With all of the “lasts” senior year brings, it also opens the door to many “firsts.” This is a year where I get to enjoy making many impactful decisions for my future.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. Math has almost always been my most challenging yet most enjoyable subject, since I am constantly finding new ways to solve problems and working my brain in different ways each and every class.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have received the principal’s honor roll each year of high school. I also have received the certification for Microsoft Excel and am a part of National Honor Society.

Q. What are your favorite extracurricular activities?

A. By far, my favorite extracurricular activity is girls lacrosse. I get to spend my free time playing a sport I love with a team full of girls that share very similar interests. I have had the opportunity to meet and become close with new friends each year through the sport. I also enjoy volunteering through Hornet Ambassadors and through the Emerging Health program.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I hope to find a college where I feel comfortable and welcomed and then find new activities or hobbies that will put me outside of my comfort zone. I hope to grow as a person through different experiences.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Balancing work, athletics and high level academia has been a challenge over the last few years. It has forced me to focus on time management and develop priorities in my extracurricular and social life.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would hope to be thought of as a hardworking and driven student and athlete at Emmaus. I would also like to be remembered as a kind and respectful friend, classmate and student.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my mother because she always dedicates her best to everything she does and has inspired me to work to my fullest potential. She has been such a huge support system throughout my life.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Always work hard at whatever you are involved in from the start to open the doors to all opportunities you hope to one day achieve.
