Thomas J. Butler, 72, of Orefield, died March 12, 2020, in his home.

He and his wife Susan A. (Andersen) Butler were married 49 years last September.

Born Nov. 6, 1947, in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late William and Doris (Costello) Butler.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era.

He was an inside salesman with various companies in the electric industry.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Laurie M. Carnes and her fiancé Bill Marley of Neffs, Renea S. Butler of Orefield; son Christopher J. Butler of Orefield; sister Kathy B. Hart and her husband, Hugh, of Warwick; brothers William Butler of New Jersey and John Butler and his wife, Trish, of California; and grandchildren Jeanne and her fiancé, Brittany, Ron and Jesse.

His memorial service will be announced at a later date.
