Gerald L. Gehris, 83, of Allentown, died Feb. 29, 2020, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Allentown.
Born Nov. 14, 1936, in Fogelsville, he was the son of the late Lewis A. Gehris and the late Edith (Beitler) Gehris.
He and his wife, Marie A. (Bochrowski) Gehris, were married 59 years.
He retired after many years of service from Mack Trucks, Macungie.
Before that, he worked for several years at the Trojan Powder Company, Allentown.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Trexlertown.
He was a life member of the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club, New Tripoli, for which he served on the board of governors for 40 years.
He was also a certified hunter education instructor for 30 years.
A longtime member of the Lehigh Valley Trap League, he enjoyed hunting and the great outdoors.
He served his country as a Specialist 4 in the U.S. Army during peacetime.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by Aunt Elsie (Beitler) Sebring of Emmaus; cousins, nieces and nephews.
