LV CHARTER ARTS: ‘Singin’ in the Rain’

“Singin’ in the Rain” splashes across the stage, 7 p.m. March 18, 19, 20, 21, and 2 p.m. March 22, theater, Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts, 321 E. Third St., Bethlehem.

Director Brandon Hanks is assisted by choreographer Jennifer-Dite Weaver, music director June Thomas, pit orchestra director Nicholas Conti, costume designer Seana Benz. lighting designer Peter Wrenn-Meleck and set designer Magdalena Schutzler.

Adapted from the 1952 movie of the same title, the music is by Nacio Herb Brown, lyrics are by Arthur Freed and the book is by Adolph Green and Betty Comden.

“Singin’ in the Rain,” which opened on Broadway in 1985, received two Tony Award nominations.

Musical numbers include “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Good Morning,” “Make ’Em Laugh,” “Lucky Star” and “Beautiful Girls.”

The production is not entered in the Freddy Awards.
