Wind Creek names

McCracken new GM

Kathy McCracken has been named executive vice president and general manager of PCI Gaming Authority d/b/a Wind Creek Hospitality (Wind Creek) Bethlehem. She is succeeding Brian Carr, who is leaving the organization.

Moravian professor’s book launch March 17

There will be a book launch for Moravian Professor Joyce Hinnefeld’s short story collection, The Beauty of Their Youth, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 17 in the Cohen Room, Bethlehem Area Public Library, 11 W. Church St.

The author will be in conversation with Bethlehem novelist and program emcee, Kate Racculia. Books will be available for purchase and there will be a book-signing. No registration or ticket is needed.

Durbin inducted to Phi Kappa Phi

Sarah Durbin, of Bethlehem, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Membership into the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.

Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Local woman stars in ‘1776’

Kelly Donah, of the Bethlehem area, recently starred in Shenandoah Conservatory’s all-female student cast for the university’s production of the Broadway hit “1776.” The play tells the story of the Founding Fathers and the events leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
