Marilyn (Mally) E. (Weaver) Kern

Marilyn (Mally) E. (Weaver) Kern, 90, of Egypt, Whitehall Township, died Feb. 20, 2020, while a guest at Fellowship Community. Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Harry J. and Wilma (Kotsch) Weaver. She was the wife of the late Clarence F. Kern for 55 years.

She was a 1947 graduate of Whitehall HS.

She worked for Western Electric, was the Egypt postmistress and a realtor and broker. She co-owned with her late husband Kern’s Auction Gallery for over 50 years. She assisted her parents in managing the former City View Motel, Egypt.

She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where she was a long time member of the choir and of the worship and music committees.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the Jessie K. Berlin Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin M. Kern and his wife Deborah of Arlington, Virginia, and Kyle R. T. Kern and his wife Michele of Whitehall; three grandchildren, April Kern, Heather Kimmitt and Kristine George; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Keith J. Kern; an infant daughter, Holly; four grandsons; and a sister, Nancy Tacker.

Contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Whitehall, 18052; or to the Whitehall Music Parents Association, 3800 Mechanicsville Road, Whitehall, 18052.
