Charles G. Kern Jr., 72, of Northampton, died Feb. 21, 2020, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Elaine A. (Dillinger) Kern.

Born in New Rochelle, N.Y., he was a son of the late Charles G. Sr. and Evelyn (Pettersen) Kern.

He was a 1965 Northampton High School graduate.

He was a tool and material leader for 33 years for PPL Electric Utilities Corporation, Martin Creek, until he retired in 2011.

He was a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cherryville.

He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer L. and her husband Troy Werley of Bath; two granddaughters, Amanda and her husband Mike Millhouse of Northampton and Amber Werley of Bath; a brother, Ronald A. and his wife Cristine of Marlborough, Conn.; a sister-in-law, Gloria J. (Soulliard) Kern of Northampton; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela A. Kellow; and a brother, Norman J. Kern.

There will be a service 11 a.m. March 3 in the mausoleum chapel, Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown.
