Louise Derby Hoch
Louise Derby Hoch, 92, of Allentown, formerly of Whitehall Township, died Feb. 13, 2020, in the home of her daughter.
She and her late husband Richard C. Hoch Sr. would have celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on Feb. 14.
Born Dec. 20, 1927, in Summit Hill, she was the oldest of 12 children of the late Hugh Hontz Derby and Jeanette Ida (Smith) Derby.
A 1946 graduate of the Summit Hill High School, she was the owner and operator with her husband of Dick’s Greenhouse and Florist for 40 years. A charter member of the Whitehall Women’s Club, she was a founding member of the Jefferson Street Fullerton Playground and Pool.
She was a past member of the ladies auxiliary of the Fullerton Fire Company, American Legion of Fullerton Ladies of Auxiliary and Lehigh Valley Florist Association.
She was a member of St. John’s UCC, Fullerton.
Her survivors include her daughters, Tami, wife of Jimmy Jones, of Allentown with whom she resided, Debra, wife of Thomas Hennessy, of Clemson, S.C., Dona of Peoria, Ariz., Paula, wife of Thomas McMahon, of Peoria, and Louise (Weazy), wife of Tom Sullivan, of Amarillo, Texas; daughter-in-law Debi Hoch of Bloomsburg; grandchildren Jill, wife of Dr. John Shea, of Gainesville, Fla., Kathy, wife of Lt. Col. Gregory Cameron, Air Force, of Albuquerque, N.M., Brian Hennessy of Clemson, and Eric Hennessy, and wife, Tiffany, of Lewisville, N.C., Ryan Hoch of Philadelphia, Leanne Fenstermaker and companion, Michael Geissinger, of Emmaus, Jason Fenstermaker of Phoenix, Ariz., Dale Flores III and wife, Kristin of Phoenix, Paul Flores and wife Jennica of Gilbert, Ariz., Diana Scott and companion, Kyle Petty, of Acworth, Ga. and Sam Scott of Marietta, Ga.; step-grandchildren Ashley, wife of Nadim Dayoub, of Allentown, Erik McMahon and wife, Alyssa McMahon, of Phoenix, Lauren and husband, Chase Durrence, of Savannah, Ga., Ceanne and husband, Danny Talty, of Columbia, S.C., Chris and wife. Lindsay Scott. of Kittery, Maine; great-grandchildren Tucker, Charlotte and Amelia Shea of Gainesville, Fla., Andrew, Esthe, Phoebe and Eden Cameron of Albuquerque, Rome, Kade Nile and Tice Hennessy of Lewisville, N.C., Carson and Cheyenne Flores of Phoenix, and Parker and Brayden Flores of Gilbert, and Baby boy Geissinger soon to arrive; step-great-grandchildren Lucas Dayoub, Cameron, Ethan, Cooper and Hudson McMahon, Rylee, Laden and Oliver Durrence of Savannah, Sullivan Talty of Columbia, and Conner Scott of Kittery; brothers Clarence (Topsy) and wife, Nancy Derby, of Summit Hill, Hugh and Ann Louise Derby from Langhorne; sisters Virginia Sarabok of Palmyra, Ruthann, wife of Delroy Seip of Neffs, Patricia Balogach of Lehighton, Margaret (Peggy) Davidyock of Summit Hill; sister-in-law Gladys Derby of Penndel, brother-in-law Robert Vrablic of Summit Hill, many nieces and nephews, and godchildren Jerome Coniglio, Sarah Ruth and John Howells.
She was predeceased by son Richard C. (Rick) Hoch II, brother Colson Derby, brother-in-law Joseph Sarabok, sister Jeanette and husband, Jerome Coniglio, sister Sarah and Charles Gerber, sister Mary Vrablic, brothers-in-law Carl Hoffman, John Balogach and Richard Davidyock and infant sister Gail Ann.
Services will be private, at the convenience of the family.
