Emergency services grants announced

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY

The Office of the State Fire Commissioner has approved approximately $800,000 in grants in support of emergency services in Northampton and Monroe counties.

“We must continue to invest in public safety initiatives, fire and emergency services, including upgrading and improving emergency service communications and interoperability and, most importantly, to ensure that our emergency service personnel have the tools they need to focus all of their attention on what they do best - protecting lives and property across the commonwealth,” state Sen. Mario Scavello, R-40th, said.

Northampton County grant recipients include:

• Northampton Fire Department

• Northampton Regional Emergency Medical Services

• Allen Township Fire Company No. 1

• East Allen Township Fire Department

• East Allen Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps

• Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1

• Bath Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance Corps Inc.

• Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Company

• Charotin Hose Company No. 1, North Catasauqua
