The Harlem Wizards with their “Tricks, hoops and alley oops,” displayed their talents and fun at a basketball game between the Wizards and the high school faculty at a performance at Parkland High School on Nov. 21, 2019.
Joshua Abrams, a social studies teacher at the high school, told his students if they made and displayed a sign supporting him, he would give them extra credit.
Abby Severo took his suggestion and made a sign supporting Abrams.
During halftime at the game, the winning raffle ticket was picked for a 1969 MG roadster convertible that was donated by Barry and Marcy Dobil, the owners of Josh Early Candies.
Proceeds of the raffle went to the Parkland Education Foundation.
The winning ticket for the car was held by Anne DeSantos, an employee of American Bank, who was presented and surprised by the car the next day while she was at work.
Parkland High School student Abby Severo took the suggestion of her social studies teacher Joshua Abrams to make and display a poster supporting him in the teachers team against the Harlem Wizards.
