Donald R. Genshart

Donald R. Genshart, 88, of Allentown, died Jan. 8, 2020, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife, Anne A. (Apfelbaum), would have been married 62 years this month.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frederick W. K. Genshart, DDS. and Julia P. (Peters) Genshart.

A 1950 graduate of Allentown High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as a military policeman.

He was employed by Mack Trucks for more than 32 years in plants 4 and 5-C before retiring in 1987.

Previously a volunteer with Greenawalds Fire Co., his passions included anything with cars and singing barbershop. He was a member of the Wheels of Time Street Rod Association, the Lehigh Valley Timing Association and the Lehigh Valley Harmonizers.

He loved and was proud of his family

He will be remembered by all his family and friends as a good guy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Jane G. and her husband, Douglas A. Keen, James C. and his wife, Denita R., Jeffrey and his wife, Shelly L., and Elizabeth A. and her husband, Richard D. Duld, all of Allentown; grandchildren Caitlin (Keen) Lavoritano and her husband, Scott, Megan Keen, James and Donald Genshart, Gregory Duld and his wife, Jamie, and Jillian Duld; great-grandchildren Gage and Brynn Duld, Grace and Sadie Lavoritano; sister Sally G. (Genshart) Crooker of Chicago, Ill.; and nephews Robert and James Crooker.

Contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice or perform random acts of kindness in his memory.
