Liberty’s boys’ swim team defeated Stroudsburg, 116-54, last Thursday at Liberty.
Patrick Gilhool, Sean McGuire, Daniel Lader, and Ben Service won the 200 medley relay in 1:46.82.
“It’s a lot of fun being the anchor in meets. It’s pressure, especially if it’s close,” said Service.
Addison Collins won the 200 free in 1:51.09 and the 100 free in 51.05, Corbin Eisenhardt won the 50 free in 25.01, and Gilhool took first in the 100 butterfly in 54.75 and the 100 backstroke in 57.15, and McGuire came in first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.86.
Trevor Lenig, John Jones, Caleb Stein, and Collins combined to win the 200 free relay in 1:38.14.
In the 200 IM, Lader missed first place by .01 seconds with a time of 2:16.29 to Stroudsburg’s Juan Hernandez whose time was 2:16.28.
Also, in the 100 back, Service set a personal record by three seconds, placing second in 1:01.92.
“I think we’re doing really well this season,” said Service. “This meet, we had a ton of new P.R.’s (personal records), and we’re all really focused at practices.”
This week, the Hurricanes will host Allentown Central Catholic on Thursday.
