There will be no classes Jan. 17 for a professional development day. Whitehall-Coplay School District will be closed Jan. 20 for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The end of the second marking period will be Jan. 22. Make sure to stay in contact with your child’s teacher.

Kindergarten parent information night, planned for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 22, is for parents/guardians of all kindergarten-aged children (5 years old by Aug. 31) who will be enrolling for the 2020-21 school year. The typical kindergarten day, enrollment procedures, transportation and curriculum will be discussed; a tour of the kindergarten classrooms and school will be given. More information will be sent home with students.

Snow date is Jan. 23.

Also, kindergarten registration is currently open and will continue until March 27. Visit whitehallcoplay.org to register and select a date and time to meet with Michelle Khouri, district registrar, to present all the required documentation, which is listed on the website. Parents/guardians will be given an appointment to bring their child to meet with the guidance counselor, principal, school nurse, ESOL teacher and reading specialist for a brief assessment at Gockley Elementary April 20, 21 and 22.
