Emmaus community organizations have joined together to recognize veterans, military personnel and their families with the “Our Home Town Heroes” banner program.
To qualify as an eligible veteran, a person must currently or have previously served on active duty in a branch of the United States armed forces.
A completed application, a photograph of the veteran in uniform and a check or cash payment are required for each submission.
Checks are to be made payable to the Emmaus Historical Society.
Banners are 24 inches by 48 inches, double sided vinyl material and include the service person’s name, branch of service, era of service and photograph.
Banners will be displayed on utility poles in the Borough of Emmaus between Memorial Day and Labor Day for a minimum two-year period.
Banner locations will be selected randomly and specific display locations cannot be requested.
Original photographs of the veteran in uniform must be submitted. The photograph will be scanned and the banner photo quality will reflect the original picture provided. Original photographs will be available for pickup after April 1.
