LV Active Life lists January events

Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown, is offering the following programs for seniors.

The following groups and disc jockeys will be playing oldies and requests at the Saturday and Wednesday dances, so come out and enjoy the music with your friends.

Jan. 11: Hot Spanish Music Dance

Jan. 15, 25: DJ Jerry Deane

Jan. 18: KATO

Saturday dances will be offered 7-10 p.m. The Wednesday dance will be 1-4 p.m. in the Trexler Room.

Per person admission fee includes light refreshments. Singles and couples are welcome.

Peggy Sue will lead a beginning swing dance class 12:45-1:45 p.m. from Jan. 9-Feb 27.

Instructor Grace Conti will lead a True Beginners Tap Dance class from 9-9:45 a.m. through Feb. 25.

This class is for individuals who have no dance experience at all, but would like to learn some basic steps.

Barbara and Charles Vengrove will be showing “Don Pasquale (Comedy) Donizetti and the Makropulos Case- Janacek” video opera performance with English subtitles on a large screen 12:45-4 p.m. Jan. 17.

“Friday Drop in Studio Art” led by Dolly Fleischmann will be offered 9-11:30 a.m. Jan. 10, 17, 24 and 31.

Whatever medium you choose, help is available. Both new and advanced students are welcome.

Instructor Trisha Baker will lead an arts and crafts class 9-11:30 a.m. Jan. 13, 20, 22, 27 and 29.

Diamond Painting led by Trisha Baker is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. Jan. 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29.

Diamond painting is an easy and enjoyable way of relaxing, relieving stress and creating art.

Based on the same concept as mosaics and paint by numbers, diamond painting uses tiny “diamond” like facets to create colorful designs and patterns for finished designs that sparkle.

Acrylic Painting led by instructor Judy Peters will be offered 9-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays through Feb. 26.

Learn how to paint beautiful acrylic landscape scenery and subjects with brush techniques on canvas.

Instructor Angela Faidley will lead a Paint and Sip class from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 29.

Participants all do the same painting while enjoying wine and snacks.
