With Dryland having a bye this week, Star of Bethlehem maintains 2nd place sandwiching 3-2 (11 innings) and 14-4 wins around a 5-4 loss (10 innings) to Christ UCC. Leading hitters included Scott Hoffert 11-16 and Jason Biggs 7-16 for Star of Bethlehem, while Dave Shaver was 6-13 (HR) with HRs from Susie Gasper and Eric Yocum for Christ UCC.
Light of Christ swept Farmersville by scores of 8-7 in 11 innings (scoring 4 runs in the 9th to go extra innings), 9-2 and 7-1. Top hitters for Light of Christ were ‘Buzz’ Heidecker 6-12, Andy Mickelson 6-16 (3 run HR), Norm Schoenberger 6-16 (2 run HR), Rich Hasonich 6-16, Dan Halteman 5-14 and Ryan Jones 4-10.
In another ‘sweep’, it was Salem UCC beating St. Paul’s 2-0, 4-3 and 5-1. For Salem UCC, Bill Rinker was 5-12 (HR), Ed Taylor 5-12 and Larry Fehnel 3-9. Rich Kern was 4-11 for St. Paul’s.
After a 9-1 loss to St. Stephen’s, Emmanuel came back to win 3-1 and 5-2. Leading the way for Emmanuel were Jeremiah Amiani 4-11, Bruce Danyluk 4-13, Chuck Achenzie 4-13, with HRs from Jeff Hoffert and Judy Hoofer. For St. Stephen’s, Ed Wychock 8-14, Alan Antry 4-11, Jim Blaukovitch 4-12 and Maceo Conner 4-13.
The final match of the night saw Ebenezer winning 1-0 on a balk and 2-1, losing the nightcap 5-3 in 11 innings to Bath Lutheran. Hitters for Ebenezer were Frank Trovato 3-11, Carol Voortman 3-12 and Paul Yoder with a HR. Dave Fisher was 9-14, ‘DJ’ Stillwell 6-13, Wendy Yacone 4-12 and Erika Meixsell with a HR for Bath Lutheran.
