Robert H. Hammersmith Jr., pattern maker; Vo-Tech teacher

Robert H. Hammersmith Jr., 86, of Bethlehem, died on December 12, 2019. He was the husband of Anne H. Hammersmith for 51 year.

He was in the U.S. Navy.

He earned both bachelor and master degrees in education from Temple University.

He was a pattern maker in the Bethlehem Steel Company. He taught cabinet-making at the Bethlehem Area Vo-Tech for 31 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Amy S. Hammersmith and her husband Jamie Mowder of New York, New York; a brother, Richard Hammersmith of Bethlehem; and two sisters, Eleanor Young of Jacksonville, Florida, and Elizabeth Hammersmith of Bethlehem.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Sarah A. Hammersmith; and a brother, William Hammersmith.
